CONSTANT CHORUS

Experiential Graphic Design

STUDIO | SUMMER 2025

A unified wayfinding and identity system, drawing from DAAP’s unique architectural patterns, connecting student disciplines in a creative and expressive way.

DESIGN APPROACH

My partner, Cora Wilson, and I developed a system that integrates naturally with The University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning’s architectural characteristics.

We then created a system to support clearer navigation throughout the school, reinforcing a strong sense of place.

VISUAL ATLAS

Echoing the building’s  r  h  y  t  h  m , the system transforms DAAP’s visual language into a unified journey of form and function.

A consistent, linear language seen throughout the building became a core design cue that serves as both a visual connector and a system-wide pattern.

DESIGN PROCESS

Playing with our system in largest scale, supergraphics, before finalizing signage designs was an approach we took to intentionally incorporate our kit of parts in a way that felt seemless.

We used breadcrumbing as a way to build up and create moments for users to dwell. Through thoughtful development we made sure our system would translate well across the signage plan and all decision points which allowed us to feel confident in the visual hierarchy.

VISUAL SYSTEM

We created a unified system that lets each discipline speak. Together, they form a constant chorus of creativity.

KIT OF PARTS

Designing a modular kit of parts to visually represent the unique identities of each school and major within DAAP.

TYPOGRAPHY

Bold colors, paired with minimal monochromatic sans-serifs allows for the graphics to speak loud.

COLOR PALETTE

Constant chorus portrays the system as a quiet guide; composing harmony from contrast, and turning movement into meaning.

AUDIENCE PATH

Creating an audience path and sign location map to help plan where users would engage with touchpoints and determine best placement.
